Found in Animal Cells Only

LysosomeLysosomes are spherical organelles surrounded by a single membrane. They are common in animal cells, but are rare in plant cells. Lysosomes can be found in the cytosol. The job of a lysosome is to digest proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, DNA, RNA, old organelles, bacteria, and viruses. The lysosomes work with the Peroxisomes to help break down toxins and viruses.
CentriolesCentrioles are found close to the nucleus. They can not be seen when the cell is not dividing. Centrioles are built out of microtubules. There are two centrioles in each cell. When the cell is about to divide the centrioles go to either end of the nucleus and help with the movement of chromosomes. Centrioles work with the cytoskeleton.
Tight JunctionsTight junctions are found between to conected cells. They regulate the passage of molecules and ions between cells. They work with both cells. Tight Junctions are very thin sheet-like plates.
Gap JunctionGap Junctions are found between two cells. Gap junctions are tube-like and help with communications between cells. They also allow certain molecules go from one cell to another. They work with all of the cell.
